VMware update manager plugin in vCenter disabled with connection error.


VMware update manager plugin in vCenter will be disabled with connection error.

Failure cases can be:

  • From the Installed Plug-ins, if you try to enable the disabled VMware vSphere Update Manager plugin. It will get disabled with error.
  • You see the error: There was an error connecting to VMware vSphere Update manager – [vCenter Name or IP:443]. The request failed because of a connection failure. (Unable to connect to the remote server).
  • You see the error: There was an error connecting to VMware vSphere Update manager – [vCenter Name or IP:443]. : Vmomi.Fault.NotAuthenticated : the Session is not authenticated.
  • You see the error: An internal error occurred in the vSphere Client. Details: Unable to connect to the remote server

Virtual Machine Boot Issue, after patches from SCCM and reboot


Recently our team faced this Error screen on one of the Virtual Machine and a couple of reset/restarts also couldn’t fix the issue.
